   Trooper Richard England was killed in a single-vehicle accident south of Kimmell while transporting an Army deserter to Baer Army Air Base in Fort Wayne.

   He attempted to pass a vehicle on U.S. 33 in Wolf Lake when it turned in front of him causing his vehicle to strike a tree, killing him instantly.

   Trooper England, from Columbia City, was assigned to the Ligonier post. He was survived by his wife.
