   Patrol Detective Justin Mullis was killed in a motorcycle accident while escorting a funeral procession from Martinsville to Mooresville on State Road 67 in Morgan County.

   After Patrol Detective Mullis blocked the intersection with State Road 39, he continued traveling northbound on State Road 67 when vehicles in front of him began slowing. As he applied the brakes, he lost control of his motorcycle, causing it to slide over 225 feet before coming to a stop on its side. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Mooresville where he was pronounced dead from the head injuries he suffered.

   Patrol Detective Mullis had previously served with the Ellettsville Police Department. He was survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, granddaughter, mother, two sisters and five brothers.
