Incident Details
Cause of Death:Town Marshal Bradley Fisher was struck and killed during a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
Randolph County deputies began the pursuit near County Road 400 West and County Road 50 South after confirming the van was stolen and its drivers had two felony and two misdemeanor warrants. As the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.
As the pursuit approached Lynn eastbound on U.S. 36, Marshal Fisher was struck as he was deploying Stop Sticks. The driver continued to flee until it collided with a dump truck after she lost control near U.S. 27. Marshal Fisher was transported to Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester where he was pronounced dead.
The 34-year-old female was also transported to the hospital and once released was taken into custody. She is being held on the outstanding warrants with charges pending in this incident.
Town Marshal Fisher also served as a captain with the Lynn Fire Department. He is survived by his wife and two children, with one son who serves as a deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.
