Motorcycle Policeman Byron Todd was killed in a single-vehicle accident while in pursuit of a motorist who had failed to stop at an intersection.

He lost control of his motorcycle when it struck an unused streetcar rail, causing him to skid 75 feet and being thrown to the pavement. He was taken to City Hospital where he died of a skull fracture a short time later.

Motorcycle Policeman Todd was survived by his wife and 8-year-old son.
