Deputy Sheriff Jack Frame was killed in a two-vehicle accident during a high-speed pursuit of a reported stolen vehicle from Mansfield, Ohio.

The 19-year-old man had left a Greenfield service station without paying for $1.40 worth of gasoline and the Indiana State Police began pursuing the car.

As Deputy Frame and another deputy were en route northbound on Centerville Road, an eastbound vehicle with four occupants pulled into their path at an intersection.

Deputy Frame was transported to Reid Memorial Hospital where he died the following day. Three occupants of the other vehicle, 13- and 15-year-old sisters and a 15-year-old female, were also killed in the accident, and a 14-year-old female passenger was injured.

The offender was later arrested south of Centerville and charged with reckless driving.

Deputy Sheriff Frame, from Centerville, was survived by his wife, brother and parents.
